About the Trust
In January 2001, the Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy was founded, when the UK national charity Scope announced that it would be unable to continue funding the School for Parents at Ingfield Manor.
- The School For Parents at Ingfield Manor -
With full responsibility for the School for Parents now resting with the Trust, we need to raise over £300,000 to secure this vital service each year.
We are determined that this resource is available for as long as it is needed. It is paramount therefore we secure funding to ensure that the school is never placed in a vulnerable position again.
The Trust believes in constantly reviewing its mission, as our close relationship with our families reveals more areas in which we can help. We have, for example, recently put in place a legal advisory service for all our families.
- Our ultimate aim is to be able to supply ALL necessary help to families with young children affected by cerebral palsy, and to ensure everyone is made aware of the existence of our service. No other organised help is available and the service is not funded by the Government.
- The overall management of the School for Parents and the provision of funding to cover running costs is delegated to the Trust. The running of the School for Parents is sub-contracted and is the day-to-day responsibility of the Headteacher of Ingfield Manor School.
- The service has access to a national established framework of monitoring, screening, staffing, safety and research
facilities to ensure quality control.
