The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy was set up in 2001 and the trust office is based on the same site as the School for Parents at Ingfield Manor, Five Oaks, West Sussex. The Dame Vera Lynn Trust is responsible for raising the funds to ensure that the vital and much needed services that our Schools for Parents in both West Sussex and Suffolk provide can continue. All our services are provided free of charge, we receive no statutory funding and rely entirely on the support of the community. We need to raise in excess of £660,000 this year and do this through organised events, community events, corporate support, trusts, collections and various other ways. If you would like to get involved and find out how you can help please visit our fundraising pages or contact the trust office direct.
The Dame Vera Lynn Trust School for Parents works in partnership with families to educate the young child with motor learning difficulties. It supports families with babies and children under five. School for Parents involves active learning through play. Using the principles of Conductive Education and alongside their parents, the children learn daily living skills and are enpowered to make choices and become more independent. This prepares them for life at home, the community and for the next stages of their education.
