Hayley Westenra

We are delighted that Hayley Westenra has joined us as a Vice-President of the Dame Vera Lynn Trust.

Hayley is a classical artist, born in New Zealand and has been performing since the tender age of six. She has become a very successful performer and recording artist. To date she has sold more than four million albums worldwide and performed all over the world.

On a hot sunny day in July 2009 we were very honoured to have Hayley make a visit to the School and she was joined on the same day by Dame Vera Lynn. She met all the staff at the Trust Office and was very interested to learn about the Charity and how we raise the funds for the School for Parents. Hayley said “I’m delighted to take on the role of Vice-President of the Dame Vera Lynn Trust. The school provides a wonderful service by supporting parents of young children with cerebral palsy and other related conditions, it really is a fantastic school”. If her schedule allows it, she would love to be able to attend some of our fundraising events.

Hayley then joined Dame Vera in a tour of the school and spent time talking with the staff and parents to gain an understanding of the vital service that the School provides. She then interacted with the children and observed them in the teaching environment.

On 4th October 2010 Hayley attended the launch of the Dame Vera Lynn Trust School for Parents, Suffolk with Dame Vera Lynn and spent time talking to the staff and meeting the families and children who attend the School.

We were delighted that Hayley gave a tremendous performance  for us at our 10th Anniversary Ball on Saturday 2nd April 2011 at the Lancaster London Hotel.

Hayley again joined Dame Vera Lynn on a visit to the Trust Office in March 2012 when the Trust was presented with a cheque for £5000 raised from the Arugs Appeal.  They both spent time with the children and parents in the classroom sessions.
