THE DAME VERA LYNN TRUST OPENS IT'S FIRST CHARITY SHOP
The Dame Vera Lynn Trust charity shop in Southwater officially opened on 12th December just in time to catch the Christmas rush. The shop was opened by Dame Vera Lynn's daughter Virginia, alongside Peter Sutton, Chairman of the Trust and Gary Shipton, Editor-in-Chief of the West Sussex County Times. We were joined by our lovely new band of volunteers, local businesses and the public.
A wonderful gift for over 80 families that the Trust works with, the shop will also give local people the opportunity to help children with cerebral palsy.
Shop manager, Jane Easton, is keen to welcome volunteers, donors and customers and to work with local businesses to make Southwater an even better shopping experience as well as raising money and support for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust’s Schools for Parents.
“We have two schools one of which is just down the road in Five Oaks. Our shop will help to raise awareness of cerebral palsy and the work that we do as well as raising much needed funds.”
The shop is based at The Old Post Office, Worthing Road, Southwater RH13 9DT.
