Catlin was established more than 25 years ago in London.  Today Catlin's London operation includes the Catlin Syndicate at Lloyd's (Syndicate 2003), an acknowledged market leader and the largest syndicate at Lloyd's based on gross premiums written. Whilst Catlin remains committed to being a leader in the London wholesale insurance market, a decade ago Catlin began to take a wider view of the marketplace and began establishing offices outside of London to write local businesses that would not normally be placed with London insurers and to build closer relationships with local broker and clients.

Catlin has established more than 45 offices in 20 countries and more than 1400 employees worldwide.

In November 2009 Catlin ran its annual charity partner nomination and voting process. All employees were given the opportunity to nominate a charity of their choice and then vote to decide the annual charity partner.

A large number of charities were nominated and the Dame Vera Lynn Trust was put forward by Deborah Wyatt, a parent at our school in West Sussex.  Her nomination included details about the work that the School for Parents undertakes and the positive effect it has on her son and her family. In an extract from Deborah’s nomination she says :

“This is an incredible place with some amazing people working there and it’s something I feel passionately about. It has made, and continues to make, a huge difference to the lives of my family – so much so that I am now confident about showing my little boy off – just as any parent would be about their child – the School has taught me to be proud of what my son can do rather than to focus on what he can’t do.”

Catlin employees voted The Dame Vera Lynn Trust as joint charity partner for a period of 2 years. So far Catlin has made an opening £10,000 donation to the school, sponsored the Trust Golf Day on 2nd July at Wildwood Golf and Country Club, taken part in the sponsored Skydive in April and offered places at the 2011 London Triathlon. They have also assisted with the organisation of a presentation to employees based in London and Ipswich to drive awareness of the work that the charity does and the need for more donations.

Catlin attended the launch party in October 2010 of the Dame Vera Lynn Trust School for Parents Suffolk and we look forward to working with their office based in Ipswich as part of our two year charity partnership.  They have also kindly sponsored the 10th Anniversary Ball being held at the Lancaster London Hotel on 2nd April 2011 and we are extremely grateful for their continued support.

 PMW are a marketing and media company who offer complete marketing solutions. They are experienced in all aspects of media coverage, creative design and entertainment.

FORGOTTEN MOBILE                                 

We have now partnered with a company called 'Forgotten Mobile' whereby we will be able to collect your old or unwanted mobile phones to recyle and at the same time raise money for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust.  We are aiming to place collection boxes in as many places as we can including companies, schools, recreation centres, shopping centres and would welcome your help to raise funds for the Trust through this scheme.
