PAST EVENTS

Here are just some of the events that have been organised over the past year to raise funds for the Trust.  We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported us and if you would like to take part or attend an event please take a look at our Challenge Events and Diary of Events pages opposite.  If you would like to organise an event of your own to raise funds please get in touch, this could be anything from a coffee morning to a challenge event.  We would love to hear from you.


                            

Daniel Noble with his daughter Phoebe and former School for Parents student, Alphie Westbrook as they presented Rosie with a magnificent cheque for £2,995 at the Billingshurst show in June. This was raised from taking part in the “Italian Job” part of the Crumball Rally which took place in June. Daniel, and his mates Franco, Matthew and Stephen drove from London to Monaco in a car worth less than £200 and had a lot of fun and adventure while raising valuable funds for The Dame Vera Lynn Trust.

Picutred here are Katie, Taras and Adam having fought a battle for the most points in the “Go Quackers” competition held by The Dame Vera Lynn Trust at the Billingshurst Show on Sunday 30th June. Katie finally got the top score but she was given firm instructions to share the prize – a giant Lindor chocolate - with the other two, both her friends. The Trust is truly grateful to the Billingshurst Chamber of Commerce for generously donating a pitch for their stall on a gloriously hot Sunday afternoon.




BRIGHTON MARATHON - SUNDAY 14TH APRIL 2013

Well done to all our wonderful runners who completed the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 14th April for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust. We are extremely proud of you all.

           




ABSEIL - SATURDAY 2ND MARCH 2013

We held our second Abseil on Saturday 2nd March at the Sofitel Hotel Gatwick and had over 25 brave souls take up the challenge to descend 110 feet down the hotel. The event has raised a magnificent £6000 for the Trust and we are extremely grateful to all our participants, supporters, families and friends who turned up on a cold winter's day - THANK YOU ALL.






CHRISTMAS DINNER DANCE WITH 'AMY WINEHOUSE EXPERIENCE TRIBUTE BAND'

We had a fantastic evening in November at the Ghyll Manor Hotel in Rusper West Sussex where we held a Christmas Dinner Dance. Everyone enjoyed a three-course meal and were then entertained by the superb Amy Winehouse Experience who had everyone up and dancing.

HUGE THANKS go to Gill Pike and Jane McGillivray for the wonderful room decoration, Antony Osborne-Ford and his staff and everyone who kindy donated prizes for our raffle. The event raised £3100 for the Trust and thank you to everyone who attended and supported us.




GUY LEONARD RAISE OVER £4000 AT THEIR BALL FOR THE DAME VERA LYNN TRUST

Guy Leonard and Co Estate Agents held their Anniversay Ball this year held at Slinfold Golf and Country Club and donated all the money raised to The Dame Vera Lynn Trust. They raised a staggering £4648.45 from the evening which commenced with a champagne reception followed by three-course dinner and during the course of the evening an auction and raffle was held. Over 125 guests attended the event and we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Neil and Cathy Moore and all their staff who helped to make the evening such a huge success and for all their support this year. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL!
